Darlington T-gnship Council met in the Municipal Building on this
date, all members present, Reeve Rickard presiding.
62-7-1 Moved by Councillor Cornish and Deputy Reeve Blanchard that the
minutes of the meetings of June 7th and June 15th be adopted as read.
62-7-2 Moved by Councillors Cornish and Smith that a letter from
Municipal Planning Consultants re suggested amendments to By-law 2111,
be held over until after the meeting to be held July i3th, 1962.
62-7-3 Moved by Councillors Muir and Smith that a. letter from Canada
Life Assurance Company re extended benefits under sickness and accident
policy be referred to the Finance Committee for further investigation
and consideration.
6.2-7-L; Moved by Deputy Reeve Blanchard and Councillor Muir that the
usual grants be paid to Cartwright, Durham Central, and South Ontario
Agricultural Societies.
62-7-5 Moved by Deputy Reeve Blanchard and Councillor Muir that a
letter from the Northumberland-Durham Health Up-it re razing By-lairs be
referred to the By-lays Committee.
62-7-6 Moved by Coun6illor Muir and Deputy Reeve Blanchard that the
Road Supt' s appointment By-later be deferred to the next meeting.
62-7-7 Moved by Councillors Cornish and Smith that correspondence
received in reply to the mailing of brochures be referred to the
Industrial Committee with a letter expressing Councils appreciation of
the work Lone by the Committee.
Council adjourned to J.:OO p.m.
Council was reconvened at 4:00 p.m. , Reeve Rickard in the
chair.
The report of E. A. Varcoe, Building Inspector, for the
month of June, was presented.
62-7-8 Moved by Councillors Smith and Cornish that the account of
Municipal Planning Consultants, $12 .. 53, be not paid at this time, and
that the balance of General Accounts, 68,845.19 as well as Special
Account, $250.00, be paid as presented.
62-7-9 Moved by Councillor Muir and Deputy Reeve Blanchard that
Road Accounts in the amount of $l2.,6J+8-47.j,%be paid as presented.
62-7-10 Moved by Councillor Smith and Deputy Reeve Blanchard that rule
33 be suspended for the duration of this meeting.
62-7-11,12,13 On motions as filed a By-law to further amend By-law 2111, as
amended was given its several readings and signed, sealed, and numbered
2219.
62-7-14 Moved by Councillors Cornish and Smith that the matter of
payment for members of the Committee of Adjustment be referred to the
Finance Committee for report and recommendation.
62-7-15 Moved by Councillors Cornish and Muir that advertising be
published in the Statesman on July 12th, and in the Oshawa Times on
July 10th, llth and 12th, to the effect that applications will be
received until July 18th, for the position of attendant at the Preston
Road garbage dump.
62-7-16 Moved by Councillors Muir and Cornish that Council meet on
the third. Thursday of July, August, and September at 7: 30 p.m. , the
meeting to adjourn at 11: 00 p.m.
62-7-17 Moved by Councillors Smith and Cornish that this meeting
adjourn.
