Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on
this date, all members present, Reeve Rickard. presiding.
62-1-1 Moved by Councillors Cornish and Muir that the minutes of the
`�' meetings held on August 16th, 17th and 20th be adopted as read.,,"'-':,'..,` -
62-9-2 Moved by Councillors Smith and Muir that Clerk arrange a meeting
with Mr. Totten and Council to discuss the road widening program.
62-9-3 Moved by Councillor Muir and Deputy Reeve Blanchard that E.
Pollard be notified that he will be required to sign an agreement to pay
for construction of 100 feet of road in front of Lot 16, Plan 632, and
to deposit $150.00 to cover costs of construction, any unused balance of
which is to be refunded to Pollard.
62-9-4 Moved by Councillors Smith and Muir that Mr. Cornish having
declared an interest in the matter of title to road allowance between
Lots 16 & 17 he is excused from discussion and voting on the matter.
62-9-5 Moved by Deputy Reeve Blanchard and Councillor Muir that Mr.
Feddema' s enquiry as to the ownership of the east half of the road
allowance between Lots 16 & 17 in the north half of Concession 4, be
- referred to the Townshi'p' s Solicitor for investigation.
62-9-6 Moved by Councillors Cornish and Smith that the correspondence
from Greer & Kelly re Leo Haunsberger be referred to the Road Committee
and that the advice of the Township' s Solicitor be sought by the
Committee.
62-9-7 Moved by Councillors Muir and Smith that the correspondence
from. the Department of Municipal Affairs be referred to the Finance
Committee.
62-9-8 Moved by Deputy Reeve Blanchard and Councillor Muir that rule 33
-be suspended for the duration of this meeting.
62-9-9 Moved by Councillors Smith and Cornish that a By-law to regulate
buildings read a first time on August '2nd, 1962, be amended to provide
��` `' that in c--ertain cases a building permit is not required. (par.
)
62-9-10,11 f ' On motions as filed, a By-law to regulate the construction,
alteration, addition or repair of buildings and to authorize the issuing
of building permits was given second and third reading and signed,
sealed and numbered 2228.
62-9-12 Moved by Councillors Cornish and Smith that Clerk prepare and
insert a notice in Oshawa and Ba manville papers to notify the public of
the change in the Township' s building By-law, and advising persons
contemplating construction, alteration or repair of buildings to contact
the Township' s Building Inspector.
62-9-13 Moved by Councillor Muir and Deputy Reeve Blanchard that this
Township petition the Department of Highways of Ontario for payment of
an interim subsidy for 1962.
62-9-14 Moved by Deputy Reeve Blanchard and Councillor Muir that Mary
L. Niddery, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer of this Township, be, and is hereby
authorized to sign cheques and all other documents requiring the
signature of the Clerk or of the Treasurer, during the month of
September, 1962.
62-9-15 Moved by Councillors Smith and Cornish that E. Schweizer be
notified that as of September 6th, 1962, his services at the Township
Dump will be required only when notified by the caretaker, and at rates
to be set by Council.
62-9-16 Moved by Councillors Cornish and Muir that the Industrial
Committee be informed that the Council approves the proposed expenditure
re advertising in Financial Post, providing the expenditure is within
the committees budget.
62-9-17 - Moved by Deputy Reeve Blanchard and Councillor Smith that
payments for Campbell Est. property and Jack Gay property be made when
conveyances are completed and that the Reeve and_ Clerk are hereby
authorized to sign cheques for the approved amounts in each case.
62-9-18 Moved by Councillor Muir and Deputy Reeve Blanchard that the
Reeve and Clerk are authorized to execute an agreement with Elmer
Pollard for the construction of approximately 100 feet of road, and for
the payment of the cost of said construction by Mr. Pollard.
62-9-19 I4oved ,by-Councillor Cornish and Deputy Reeve Blanchard that the
fee submitted by i2orite ,th, Monteith & Riehl be accepted.
62-9-19A Moved by Councillors Muir and Cornish that the next meeting of
Council be held on Tuesday, September 18th at 7430 p.m. and that notice
be inserted in local papers.
