Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on
this date with all members present, Reeve Blanchard presiding.
63-3-1 Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that he minutes of the
meeting of February 21st be wdopted as read.
63-3-2 Moved by Councillors Budai and Down that accounts in the amount
of $16,436.99 ,,be passed. (detail attached)
63-3-3 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that
correspondence from dative Sons of Canada be received and filed.
63-3-4 Moved by Councillors Budai and Down that the tender submitted
for supply of fuel by E. A. Burnham be accepted, according to the terms
offered by the Township and the supplier.
63-3-5 Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that residents of
Enniskj4i6len be informed that figures for street lighting are available,
and thaT a letter from Ontario Hydro quoting these rates be received
and filed until required.
63-3-6 Moved by Councillor Budai and Deputy Reeve Muir that rule 33
be suspended for the duration of this meeting.
63-3-728,9 On motions as filed, a By-law to amend By-law No. 2230 was
given its several readings, and signed, sealed and numbered 2235•
63-3-10 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Budai that this
Council strongly urges the United Counties of Northumberland & Durham
to consider favourably a resolution recently submitted by the Town of
BoT.,7anville requesting the Counties to commence re-surfacing of Scugog
Road as soon as possible.
63-3-11 Moved by Councillors Down and Gibbs that Council adjourn for
10 minutes.
Council resumed at 4: 30, Reeve Blanchard in the chair.
63-3-12 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that the Road
Supt. prepare a By-law for 1963 road expenditure incorporating the
estimates as submitted to this meeting by the Road Committee.
63-3-13 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that the
Treasurer be instructed to budget for road expenditure in 1963 at the
rate of 16 mills, and. to budget for Hampton Hydro on the basis of the
present Hydro rate.
63 Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Reeve Muir that the
proposed Road Boundary agreement between the TownshipIs of Darlington and
Clarke be accepted by this Council, and that the Reeve and Clerk be
authorized to sign and seal the said agreement on behalf of this
Municipality. a certified copy of this agreement together with a
certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Township of Clarke.
63-3-15 Moved by Councillors Down and Budai that the Road Supt. be
authorized to obtain prices for a cutting torch for the Township garage.
63-3-16,17,18 On motions as filed, a By-law to authorize exchange of
properties with A. A. Emmett was given its several readings, and signed,
sealed and numbered 2236.
63-3-19 Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that this meeting adjourn.
