Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on
this date, all members present, Reeve Blanchard presiding.
63-5-1 Moved by Councillors Budai and Down that the .minutes of the
meeting of April 18th be adopted as read.
63-5-2 Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Down that the matter brought
up by Mrs. Murray and Mrs. Chute be referred to the by-laws committee
for investigation and report.
63-5-3 Moved by Councillors Budai and Down that the Road Supt, and
Road Committee be requested to approach the owners of property on
Ormiston Street, to ask if they would consider giving the Township
sufficient land to widen the street to 66 feet, and report to next
meeting.
63-5-4 Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Down that a letter from Mr.
Creighton re the approach to Wesley Oke' s property be referred to Mr.
Short and Mr. Strike for report.
63-5-5 Moved by Councillors Gibbs and Doi that Council now adjourn
to the call of the chair.
Council resumed at 4: 55 P.M.
63-5-6 Moved by Councillors Budai and Down that accounts for the
month of April in the amount of $21,757. 51 be paid. (detail attached)
63-5-7 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Budai that the Road
Superintendent be authorized to accept the proposal of Bell Telephone Co.
to move poles as outlined in the Company' s letter of April 22nd, 1963.
63-5-8 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that the Road
Superintendent, Township Solicitor and Clerk be instructed to prepare the
necessary by-laws and documents, and to do all things necessary to
expropriate lands required for road widening in lot 3, Conc. , 6,
Darlington Township.
63-5-9 Moved by Councillors Down and Budai that this Township' s
Emergency Wages account at the Bank of Montreal, Bozamanville, be closed,
and that the balance in that account be paid into the Township' s
General Account.
63-5-10 Moved by Deputy Reeve .TKuir and Councillor Gibbs that the sum
of $6.00 be rebated to Walter Park, being 1 of the annual license fee for
a female dog, Mr. Park' s dog having died in March 1963.
63-5-11 Moved by Councillors Down and Budai that a By-law be prepared
to appoint Orville Grills as Weed Inspector for the To4anship, and that
he be paid at the rate of $1.45 per hour plus $.10 per mile.
63-5-12 Moved by Councillors Budai and DoVTn that rule 33 be suspended
for the duration of this meeting.
63-5-13,14,15 On motions as filed a By-law to authorize participation in the
Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System was given its several
readings and numbered 2242.
63-5-16,17,18 On motions as filed a By-law to repeal by-laws 2210 and 2232
was given its several readings and numbered 2243.
63-5-19 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Budai that the Reeve
be given authority after consulting the Hampton Park Committee to draft
a park management Committee for Council' s consideration.
63-5-20 Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Reeve Muir that this
meetinCD
g adjourn to the call of the Reeve, with the date May 9, 1963,
suggested.
