Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building on this date, all Members present except Councillor Down, Reeve Blanc7gard presiding. 64-8-1 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Budai that the minutes of the meeting held July 16 be adopted as read. 64-8-2 Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that Mr. Ken Graham' s request for road re-location be referred to the Road Committee and the Road Superintendent. 64-8-3 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that Road Accounts for the month of July in the amount of $49,178.97, as recommended by the Roads Committee be approved for payment. 64-8-4 Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Reeve Muir that Mr. W. Fice be informed that Gouncil has no immediate intention of disposing of the Township ' s lot at Cedar Crest Beach, but, if such action were considered, it would be the intention of this Council to give Mr. Fice the first opportunity of purchasing the property. 64-8-5 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that the Road Department be instructed to erect a suitable fence at the Township' s lot at Cedar Crest Beach. 64-8-6 On motion a By-law to license Hawkers , Ped1lars and others, was given third reading, signed, sealed and numbered 2273. 6L_8 -7 Moved by Councillor Budai and Deputy Reeve Muir that the Clerk insert an advertisement in local papers informing the public of the licensing requirements of this Township, and that license fees for the balance of 1964 shall be 1/3 of the annual fees set out in By-law 2273. 64-8-8 Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that Rule 33 be suspended for the duration of this meeting. 64-8-9-10-11 On motions as filed a By-law to provide for the care and maintenance of four (4) cemeteries in tile Township was given its several readings , signed, sealed and numbered 2274. 64-8-12 Moved by Councillor Budai and Deputy Reeve Muir that: WHEREAS for the convenience of the Municipality it is deemed advisable that cheques drawn on the Bank of Montreal against the Accounts of the Municipality be signed by affixing the signature or signatures with a cheque-signing machine or other mechanical means: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the Bank of Montreal be and it is hereby authorized and directed to pay any and all cheques or instruments purporting to be cheques of the Municipality presented for payment bearing facsimile signatures of the following officers who have been duly authorized to sign cheques for and on behalf of the Municipality: The Reeve and Treasurer 2. That such cheques or instruments shall have the same legal effect, may be dealt with to all intents and purposes and shall bind the Municipality as fully and effectually as if signed in the hand writing of and duly issued by such officer or officers for and on behalf of the Municipality, regardless of howsoever or by whomsoever the said facsimile signatures shall have been mechanically affixed; 2 3. That the Municipality shall provide the said Bank with a certified copy of this Resolution and certified specimens of such facsimile signatures and that such Resolutio4L may be acted upon by the Bowmanville branch of the said Bank. un-til-noti.6e to the contrary or of any change therein has been given in writing to the Manager or Acting Manager of such Branch. 64-8-13 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Budai that the matter of installing a window in the Welfare Office be referred to the Property Committee, with power to act. 64-8-14 Moved by Councillor Gibbs and Deputy Reeve Muir that this Council approve the application of a Tile Drainage Loan of $3000-00 to R. Bruce Taylor, Lot 23, Con. 7. 6L-8-15 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that this Council petition the Minister of Municipal Affairs for authority to accept the sum of $1500.00 in lieu of dedication of 5 % of the lands in the proposed Pollard sub-division in Lot 29& 30, Con. 3, Darlington. 64-8-16 Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that a request for additional sidewalks in Hampton be referred to the Roads Committee for its recommendation. 64-8-17 Moved by Deputy -"eeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that this meeting adjourn.
