Darlington Township Council met in the Municipal Building
on this date, all Members present, Reeve Blanchard presiding.
64-9B-1 Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that the minutes of the
meeting held September 3, 1964, be adopted as read.
64-9B-2 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Council]-or w_fbbs , that this
Council agrees with the proposal for speed control on Highway No. 2
from Oshawa City Limits to Maple Grove Road, as presented to this
meeting by Mr. Hamilton of the Ontario Department of Highways.
Moved by Councillors Budai and Down that accounts for the
month of August, 19649 as listed herewith be paid.

64-9B-4 Moved by Councillors Budai and Down that the Clerk be
instructed to prepare a By-law for speed control, as suggested in a
letter from the Ontario Department of Transport, dated Sept. 11, 1964.
64-9B-5 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that
Councillor Down be delegated to attend the Zone Y' 2 Conference at
Cobourg on September 23, 1964.
64-9B-6 Moved by Councillors Budai and Gibbs that Rule 33 be
suspended for the duration of this meeting.

64-9B-7,8 9 On motions as filed, a By-law to authorize the execution
of a Sub-division Agreement with Elmer Pollard and Mary Pollard, was
given its several readings , signed, sealed and numbered 2278.
64-9B-10 Moved by Deputy Reeve Muir and Councillor Gibbs that this
Council agrees to the valuation of $1429.00 as a cash payment in lieu
of 5 % bf. lands in the E.D.Pollard sub-division.
64_9B_11 Moved by Councillors Down and Budai that this Council agrees
to the valuation of $400.00 as a cash payment in lieu of 5 % of lands
in the L. Colvin sub-division.
64-9B-12 Moved by Councillors Down and Budai
WHEREAS the Durham County District High School Board has
applied to the Municipal Councils having jurisdiction in the said
District for the issue of debentures in the amount estimated to be
$
365,000:"'to provide for the cost of construction of a vocational
addition to the Courtice High School, and the furnishing and equipping
thereof,
Be it resolved that the Council of the Corporation of the
Township of Darlington being a municipality included in the said District,
hereby approves the said application and agrees to assume its proper
proportion of the amounts required to pay the said debentures, the interest
thereon and the expenses connected therewith, as prescribed by the
Secondary Schools and Boards of Education Act.

Be it further resolved that the Council of the Corporation
of the Township of Darlington hereby requests the Council of the Corpor-
ation of the United Counties of Northumberland and Durham to raise
the sum estimated to be $365,000®required for the purposes aforesaid
by the issue of debentures of the Corporation of the United Counties
of Northumberland and Durham.
64-9B-13 Moved by Councillors Muir and Gibbs:
WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township of Darlington
has approved of the request of the Durham County -- District High School
Board for permission to build a Vocational Addition to Courtice
High School, and
WHEREAS, a decision is needed is to the term of the
debentures for the Courtice Vocational Addition, be it resolved that the
Corporation of the Township of Darlington desires that the term of the
debentures be 10 years.
