Minutes of a Special Council Meeting
held on Friday, September 26 1980 at
1:30 p.m. in the Bell Building Committee

Roll Call Present were: Mayor Garnet B. Rickard
Councillor K. Barr

Also present: Mr. A. C. Guiler, Town Manager
Mr. J. Hayman, Fire Chief
Mr. W. Sims, Town Solicitor
Mr. J. Jenkins, Chief of Police

The Special Meeting had been called In Camera to discuss
a report of the Town Clerk on the Mosport Festival
referred to Council by Resolution #F-236-80.
Mosport The Town Clerk's Confidential Report regarding the claims
Music for damages and unpaid accounts relative to the Mosport
Festival Festival on August 23 1980 was discussed.

Resolution #C-80-1227
Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Prout
1) THAT any claims for damages received to date and in the
future be referred to the promotors' insurers.
2) THAT the balance of funds in reserve be held until all
parties agree to pay claims.
3) AND failing this, the Town Solicitor be directed to pay
balance of reserve funds into Court.

THAT the previous motion be divided into three parts.

On being put to a vote all three parts of the
motion were carried.

Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Clarke
1) THAT the Police Department's bill in the amount of
$91,159.66 be paid
2) THAT the Region of Durham Health Unit 's bill in the amount
of $778.04 be paid.
3) THAT the Newcastle Fire Department's bill in the amount of
$11,500.00 be credited to the Fire Department's budget.

THAT the $25,000 received from the promotors by the Town be
credited to General Administration Contingency Account (7007291) .
