Minutes of a Special Meeting
of Council held on Friday,
August 15, 1980 at 3 p.m. in
the Bell Building Committee Room
Roll Call Present were: Mayor G. B. Rickard
Councillor K. Barr
Councillor Wm. Clarke
Councillor Ivan M. Hobbs
Councillor Maurice Prout
Deputy Clerk G. Gray
Absent: Councillor Ann Cowman, on vacation
Councillor J. W. Holliday
Also Present: Director of Public Works, J. Dunham
Director of Planning, Don Smith
Treasurer, K. DeGroot
The Planning Director gave a verbal report of the
situation with regard to the Watson Industrial
Subdivision.
Watson Councillor Barr expressed his opinion that the inclusion
Industrial of this matter on the Agenda for a Special Council
(r: Subdivision Meeting was inappropriate as he felt it had been referred

to the next Council Meeting in September.
Resolution #C-80-1106

Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Prout
THAT, in view of Staff's opinion (Directors of Planning
and Public Works and Treasurer) that the Town is fully
covered cost wise for the drainage of these lands, and,
if necessary, the expropriation of certain lands for
drainage, where a Letter of Credit is posted, in the
amount of $12,000. to the Municipality, the following
recommendation in Planner's Report #3 to Council on
July 21, 1980 be endorsed:

C 1. That Report #3 be received for information.
2. That the attached By-law 80-102, which
authorizes the execution of the subject
agreement, be approved by Council; and
3. That the attached By-law 80-103, which amends
the Restricted Area (Zoning) By-law of the
former Township of Darlington, be approved
by Council.

Encroachment THAT the matter of the Encroachment on Chapel
Chapel Street Street be reconsidered at this time.

THAT Resolution #C-80-1103 be rescinded.

THAT that portion of Chapel Street more clearly
defined on Plan, file ,No. 80001, be closed and
conveyed to the abutting owners, and a letter of
;= undertaking be provided by the Municipality, to
close and convey and the applicant, agreeing
with Town Policy.
