Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held on
June 24th, 1980 at 4:00 p.m. in the Bell Building
Committee Room.
Roll Present were: Mayor Garnet B. Rickard
Call Councillor Keith Barr
Councillor Ann Cowman
Councillor Ivan M. Hobbs
Councillor Jasper W. Holliday
Councillor Maurice Prout
Town Clerk Joseph M. McIlroy
Absent: Councillor William Clarke on account of
Illness in family.

Also Present: A.C. Guiler, Town Manager
K. DeGroot, Treasurer
A.M.O. re The meeting was called to discuss a letter received from
Bill 23 the President of the Association of Municipalities of
Municipal Ontario regarding Bill 23, an act to provide for Municipal
Electric Electric Service in the Regional Municipality of Durham.
Service The letter pointed out that members of the Commission,
with the exception of the Head of Council, shall be
elected by a general vote of the electors for terms
commencing after the 30th day of July, 1980, unless before
the first da of Jul 1980 the Council

By-law that the additional members shall be appointed by
Council. The President recommended that Council pass the
By-Law

Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Cowman.
THAT the above mentioned correspondence be received and
that no action be taken to appoint Hydro Commissioners,
and that they be elected at the 1980 Municipal Election.
