Mcllroy, Town Clerk Absent: Councillor William Clarke Also Present: A.C. Guiler, Town Manager T. A. Fanning, Director of Community Services Councillor Clarke was absent on account of family illness Resolution #C-80-812 Moved by Councillor Holliday, seconded by Councillor Hobbs Finance UM the Chairman's report of the Finance and Administration and Committee meeting held on June 10 1980 be adopted. Administration 'CARRIID' Resolution #C-80-813 Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Holliday �r Wage THAT the attached report of the Town Manager, TM-14-80 Adjustments regarding wage adjustments for crossing guards and cleaning staff at Hampton Hall be adopted. "CARRIED' Baseline The Town Manager presented the attached report TM-20-80 -- Community regarding the Baseline Community Centre. Council Minutes -3- June 10 1980 Resolution #C-80-820 Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Cowman By-Law THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Law 80-71 being a 80-71 by-law to authorize the entering into an Agreement of Purchase and Sale with Ontario Hydro with regard to the Baseline Community Centres and that the said by--law be now read a first time. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-80-825 Moved by Councillor Prout, seconded by Councillor Holliday THAT the third and final reading of By-Law 80-72 be approved. "CARRIED" Council Minutes -4- June 10 1980 Resolution #C-80-826 Moved by Councillor Holliday, seconded by Councillor Cowman WHEREAS the Council has determined that the new construction of the Baseline Community Centre is in the best interest of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle, the Treasurer is hereby authorized to prepare the Application for the Community Centre Grant in accordance with the Community Centre Act. Norton, Citizens Minister of Community and Social Services regarding Week Senior Citizens Week, June 15 to June 21 1980 be received and the week=.proclaimed in accordance with Town policy. "CARRIED" Education Councillor Cowman made a request that the staff Costs be requested to report regarding Board of Education costs as before requested.
