May 20 1980
Minutes of a Special Council Meeting held for
the purpose of advising the Ministry of Government
Services of the Town's position with regard
to the possible purchase of Pine Ridge School,
held at 2:30 p.m. in the Bell Building Committee Room
Present were: Mayor Garnet B. Rickard
Councillor Keith Barr
Councillor William Clarke
Councillor Ann Cownan
Councillor Ivan M. Hobbs
Councillor Jasper W. Holliday from 2:40 p.m.
Councillor Maurice Prout
J. M. McIlroy, Town Clerk
Also present: Town Manager, A. C. Guiler
Director of Planning, D. Smith
Director of Community Services, T.A. Fanning
The meeting was called of Council In Committee and In
Camera owing to the fact that the subject matter was

Moved by Councillor Holliday, seconded by Councillor Clarke
THAT the Minister of Government Services be thanked for his
consideration and deliberations on the Pine Ridge School
in the past and based on the fact that the property was
r acquired at a very nominal sum and based on the fact that
it was dedicated for public
and on
necessary renovations would cost the Townhabouttone that
million dollars and based on the interest shown by public
groups, be it resolved that Council reconfirm its position
that the property and assets be retained for
Council go on record as maintainin public use and
g its position that the
r property be transferred to the Town at a very nominal cost.
