RICKARD COMPLEX Recommendations: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report TR-44-00 be received; 2. THAT Arena Resources Inc., Hamilton, Ontario with a total bid in the amount of $37,985.00 (Including G.S.T.), being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender CL2000-19 be awarded the contract for the Low Emissivity Ceiling at the Garnet B. Rickard Complex; 3. THAT funds in the amount $20,201.47, be drawn from Property Management Capital Reserve Fund account #1110-159-x as carried over from 1999; and 4. THAT funds in the amount of $12,915.69 be drawn from Parkland cash-in-Iieu account #1110-166-X as carried from 1999; and 5. THAT the remaining funds required in the amount of $4,867.84 expended be provided from the 2000 Community Services Capital Budget Account #7606-00003-0501. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the installation of a Low Emissivity Ceiling at the Garnet B. Rickard Complex, as required by the Community Services Department. Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows: $42,265.00 OPTIONAL VERTICAL NETTING $2,675.00 $3,210.00 TOTAL (includes GST) $37,985.00 $45,475.00 BIDDER BID AMOUNT Arena Resources Inc. Hamilton, Ontario Energy Ice Inc. Burlington, Ontario $35,310.00 831 . ~ REPORT NO.: TR-44-GO PAGE 2 Funds in the amount of $4,867.84 will be drawn from the approved 2000 Community Services Capital Budget Account #7606-00003-0501 as reflected on Page 381 of the Capital budget. The remaining funds in the amount of $17,985.00 will be drawn from account #1110-159-X ($20,201.47) and 1110-166-X ($12,915.69) as carried over from 1999. Although the low bidder has not previously performed for the Municipality of Clarington, they have provided a similar satisfactory service in several other Municipalities in Ontario. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc., should be referred to the Director of Community Services. After further review and analysis of the bids by both Purchasing and Community Services it is recommended that Arena Resources Inc., Hamilton, Ontario be awarded the contract for the installation of a Low Emissivity Ceiling at the Garnet B.
