Subject: RETIREMENT - LUCKY THE FIRE DOG
It is respectfully recommended Council adopt the following:
THAT Report CD-42-00 be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
After being part of the Municipality's Fire Department for approximately six years, "Lucky" the Fire Dog is
retiring! In order to recognize his contributions to the municipality, a retirement party is being planned for
September 16, 2000 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Animal Shelter. Firefighters will be barbequing
hamburgers and hot dogs and staff of the Animal Shelter will be welcoming members of the public and
encouraging pet adoptions. Lucky will, of course, be the star attraction for the day, All funds raised during
the day will be donated to the Animal Shelter. An advertisement will be placed in the local newspapers in
advance of the event, inviting members of the public to help celebrate Lucky's career.
