THAT Report TR-19-2000 be received; 2. THAT Starfield Safetywear Limited, Oakville, Ontario, with a total bid in the amount of $31,054.31 (including taxes), being the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender CL2000-10, be awarded the contract to supply and deliver twenty-five (25) fire fighter bunker suits, as required by the Municipality of Clarington. Fire Department; 3. THAT funds in the amount of $30,000.00 be provided from the approved 2000 Fire Department Capital Budget Account #7102-00001-0520; and 4. THAT the additional funds required in the amount of $1,054.31 be provided from the Fire Department Equipment Reserve Account # 2900-00014-X. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: Tenders were publicly advertised and issued for the supply and delivery of twenty-five (25) fire fighter bunker suits, as required by the Fire Department. Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows: Starfield Safetywear Toronto, ON Res-Q-Tech Systems Woodstock, ON Safedesign Apparel Ltd. Toronto, ON Acklands - Grainger Inc. Oshawa, ON Levitt Safety Ltd. Oakville, ON $31,054.31 $32,056.25 $35,259.29 $36,536.94 $37,660.78 805 REP6RT NO,: TR-19-2000 PAGE 2 As the total funds required exceeds the approved 2000 Fire Department Capital Budget Account, $30,000.00 budget allocation, as reflected on Page 139 of the 2000 Capital Budget, it is recommended that the additional funds in the amount of $1,054.31 be provided from the Fire Department Equipment Reserve Account # 2900-14-X. The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc., should be referred to the Fire Chief. The subject firm have previously performed satisfactorily for the Municipality of Clarington. After further review and analysis of the tender by the Fire Department and Purchasing, it was mutually agreed that Starfield Safetywear Limited, Toronto, Ontario, be recommended for the contract to supply and deliver twenty-fIVe (25) Fire Fighter Bunker Suits to the Municipality of Clarington, as required by the Fire Department.
