Letter of Resignation from Captain Sterling Mather, volunteer fireman for Hall #3, Orono, effective date January 7, 1977. (attached) 2. Hall #2 - Village of Newcastle re Apartment roof - During the recent storm on January 28, 1977, the high winds tore off the asphalt roof at the rear of the apartment . An estimate of $555 . from County Roofing, Newtonville, to replace the roof has been accepted by the Insurance Company. Replacement will proceed as soon as weather permits. 3. Water and Sewer Bill - Region Consideration is being given by the Regional Municipality of Durham re water and sewer bill for the Police and Fire Building Bowmanville, as to the high charges for sanitary sewer. At present the rate is based on the amount of water used. All fire pumper water tanks and tanker truck are being filled at the fire station. This water is used for fire- fighting purposes and does not go back into the sanitary sewer system. 4. Durham Regional Fire Chief ' s Quarterly Meeting to be held in Bowmanville, Wednesday, February 16, 1977. 5. Ontario' s Classified Driver Licensing System will require fire department personnel to obtain a conversion to Classified Licence (D) to operate fire vehicles . 6. Slight vehicle accident - report enclosed. 7. Boiler in Hall #2 Newcastle requires a back flow valve installed on water supply system (Plumbing Inspector ) February 3, 1977 I
