INFORMATION
TO: Councillor Donald Allin, Chairmant Community Services Committee
FROM: J. Hayman, Area Fire Chief
SUBJECT: Zion Community Hall
DATE: July 189 1975,
Subsequent to an inspection of the Community Building
at Zion Park on Wednesday July 16, 1975, with building inspector
H.p Wight. There has been no alterations to the building since
the inspection of February 2, 1975.
The following are the necessary fire safety requirements*
1. Install a landing and stairs from the north-west emergency exit.
2. Panic-bar hardware to be installed on exit doors.
3. Illuminated exit lights for all exits.
4. Furnace room to have a 1. hr. fire separation,, with combustible
air and ventilation from the exterior. (would recommend to be
relocated to the basement, with a pre-fab factory built chimney).
5. Kitchen requires a 3/4 hr. fire separation, with vapour removal
exhaust system for cooking appliances.
6. Necessary portable fire extinguishers.
