Dear Don:
In 1974 a sum of $ 3,500. was in the Capital Expenditure
Budget, for a rescue and emergency vehicle. Due to the lateness of
receiving the budget (Sept. 14/74.) we had been unable to locate the
type of vehicle required for this work. In the last week of February
1975 one was located at Mobile Tank Industries* Markham Rd. On contacting
Treasurer J. Descent we were informed that we would be unable to use the
$ 3,500. as the books were closed for 1974.
On Tuesday May 130 1975 Mobile Tank Industries (same place
as we purchased Tanker) Markham Rd. informed us there was a used van
available at their truck centre. We have inspected this vehicle and
find it is just what we require. Total price complete including re-paint
mechanical fitness certificate$ new tires etc. $ 2,600* this amount
is encluded inthe 1975 budget. On contacting Treasurer J. Descent he
informed me the budget has been tentatively accepted, but not final
approval. I would ask you to consider purchasing this vehicle at this
time, as Mobile Tank Industries cannot hold this unit for a period
of time.
