Subject: MONITORING OF THE DECISIONS OF THE COMMITTEE OF
ADJUSTMENT FOR THE MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 14, 2000

Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-103-00 be received;
2. THAT Council concur with the decisions of the Committee of Adjustment made on
September 14,2000 for applications A2000/030 and A2000/039 to A2000/041, inclusive;
and
3. THAT Staff be authorized to appear before the Ontario Municipal Board to defend the
decisions of the Committee of Adjustment for applications A2000/030 and A2000/039 to
A2000/041, inclusive, in the event of an appeal.
1. In accordance with Section 45 of the Planning Act RS.O. 1990, all applications received
by the Municipality for minor variance are scheduled to be heard within 30 days of being
received by the Secretary Treasurer. The decisions of the Committee are detailed below.
2. The purpose of these minor variance applications and the Committee's decisions are
detailed in Attachment No. 1.
3. Application A2000/030 had been previously TABLED to allow time for the ownership of
the Church Street and John Street road allowances to be resolved. Although the

ownership of the road allowances has not yet been resolved, the owner has reconfigured
the proposed lot lines for his land division applications and the minor variance is no
longer required. This application was DISMISSED.
4. Applications A2000/039, A2000/040 and A2000/041 were all approved as applied for.
5. Staff have reviewed the Committee's decisions and are satisfied that the applications
which received approval are in conformity with the Official Plan policies, consistent with
the intent of the Zoning By-law and those approved are minor in nature and desirable.
6. Council's concurrence with the Committee of Adjustment decisions is required in order
to afford staff s official status before the Ontario Municipal Board in the event of an
appeal of any decision of the Committee of Adjustment.
