Tender CL2004-3, Demolition Services
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report COD-025-04 be received;
2. THAT Hard-Co Construction Ltd, Whitby, Ontario with a total adjusted bid in the
amount of $34,975.00 (including GST), being the lowest responsible bidder
meeting all terms, conditions and specifications of Tender CL2004-3, be awarded
the contract for Demolition Services, as required by the Operations Department;
and
3. THAT the total funds be drawn from the General Capital Reserve Account #100-
000-2917.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
Tenders were advertised and issued for the demolition of houses located
at 23 Silver Street, 29 Silver Street, 166/168 Church Street, Bowmanville,
Ontario, as required by the Director of Operations.
Tenders were advertised in local papers, as well as the Municipal Web
Site. Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as per Schedule
"A" attached.
The funds for the demolition of these houses were not identified in the
original property acquisition report or in the 2004 Capital Budget. It is
therefore recommended that they be drawn from the General Capital
Reserve Account # 100-000-2917.
The Director of Finance has reviewed the funding requirements and
concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc., should be referred to the Director of
Operations.
The low bidder has previously performed satisfactory work for the
Municipality of Clarington.
After further review and analysis of the bids by the Operations Department
and Purchasing, it was mutually agreed that the low bidder, Hard-Co
Construction Ltd. . Whitby, Ontario, be recommended for the contract for
the Demolition Services.
