Report#: ADMIN40-94Fiie : By-Law#
Subject: INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT APPLICATIONS
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend
to Council the following:
1. THAT Report No. ADMIN 10.94 be received for information.
1.0 BACKGROUND:
1.1 On April 15, 1994, Mr. Phillip Malcomson representing the Ministry of Municipal Affairs
contacted staff regarding a technical problem with the Municipality's infrastructure
application.
1.2 Specifically, a total of$2,500,494.00 has been allocated to the Municipality of Clarington.
i
The submission by the Municipality for all six projects identified in the application totalled
a request of$2,580,495.00.
1.3 Subsequently, the Municipality was directed to reduce its application by$80,000.00(Federal/
Provincial contribution). To meet this requirement, staff has been instructed to reduce the
total cost of the Bowmanville Recreation Complex Park Development project by a total of
$120,000.00 (includes Municipal portion) thus amending our grant application to meet the
original allotment of $2,500,494.00. Further, staff have been instructed to revisit this
particular project to determine the extent of impact that this reduction would cause to the
overall project.
1.4 It is staffs understanding, should Council wish to redirect previously allocated funding to a
new project or enhance any of the existing projects listed in our application that this is j
permitted, subject to the approval of the responsible agencies.
