THAT Report WD-12-93 be received; 2 . THAT a Purchase Order be issued to the Ministry of Transportation for the construction of sidewalk in Newcastle Village in accordance with Contract D92-6; 3. THAT approval be granted to pay the Town's estimated share of Contract D92-6 in the amount of $88,500; 4 . THAT the funds be obtained from Account No. 7212-91006-X, Highway 2, Sidewalk Construction; and 5 . THAT R. Goddard, Senior Works Analyst, Region of Durham, be advised of Council's decision. Goddard, Senior Works Analyst, Region of Durham No. 2 : Project Detail Sheet Highway 2, Sidewalk Construction, 1992 Budget REPORT NO. : WD- 12-93 PAGE 2 2.0 BACKGROUND 2 . 1 Council approved $130,000 in the 1992 Capital Budget for the construction of sidewalk in Newcastle Village in conjunction with the Ministry of Transportation's Highway 2 reconstruction project in 1992 . 2 .2 The Region of Durham administered Contract No. D92-6 on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation. The Region has invoiced the Town for its share of the sidewalk construction works. The total project cost is estimated to be $88,500. 2 . 3 Sidewalk construction proceeded without prior approval from Council for the issuance of the Purchase Order in accordance with the requirements of Purchasing By-law #82-96 . 2 .4 The sidewalk construction is complete; therefore, it is recommended that a Purchase Order be issued and that approval be granted to pay the Region for the Town's share of the contract cost.
