Subject: CONCESSION ROAD 4, LOT 4,
FORMER TOWNSHIP OF DARLINGTON - WASHOUT
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council FORTHWITH the
following:
1. THAT Report WD-18-93 be received;
2 . THAT Council approve the expenditure, estimated to be
$50,000, for the repair of a washout on Concession Road 4,
located in Lot 4, former Township of Darlington;
3. THAT the funds be obtained from the Public Works Lot Levy
Reserve Fund (Account No. 5001-36-X) ;
4 . THAT the expenditure dollars be considered in conjunction with
the overall subsidy maximization analysis for 1993; and
5. THAT the Purchasing By-law be waived regarding tendering
procedures .

2 . 0 REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATIONS
2 . 1 On the weekend of March 27, a very large washout occurred on
Concession Road 4 . It is necessary that work commence as soon
as possible to repair the damage in order to prevent any
further erosion and in regard to safety concerns . It is
recommended that the funds be obtained from the Public Works
Lot Levy Reserve Fund (Account No. 5001-36-X) .
2 .2 The work will be carried out immediately with Town forces and
equipment, supplemented with the rental of equipment, such as
a backhoe and compactor.
2 . 3 The Treasurer has reviewed this report and agrees with the
recommendations and will consider including the expenditure
dollars, if they are required, to maximize the 1993 subsidy
dollars available for 1993. If this is the case, the cost may
be reduced by any subsidy dollars received.
