SLEJECT: CHANGES TO TRAFFIC CONTROL AT THE INTERSECTION OF
HILLSIDE DRIVE AND DAVIS COURT, SOLINA
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report WD-17-91 be received;
2 . THAT the traffic control at the Hillside Drive/Davis Court
intersection be changed to eliminate the yield sign for eastbound
traffic on Davis Court and to provide for a yield sign for
northbound traffic on Hillside Drive; and
3 . THAT the By-law attached to Report WD-17-91 be passed by Council
to implement the change.

2.0 BACKGROUND
2 . 1 During a review of the Through Road By-law, it was noted that a
potential right-of-way conflict exists at the Hillside Drive/Davis
Court intersection.

3.0 REVIEW AND COMMENT
3 . 1 At the present time traffic is controlled at the Hillside
Drive/Davis Court intersection with a yield sign for eastbound
traffic on Davis Court.
3 .2 The usual control for a T-intersection, such as this one, is to
provide for a stop or yield sign, for in this case, northbound
traffic on Hillside Drive.
3 . 3 To improve the traffic movement and safety at this intersection,
it is recommended that the necessary by-law be passed to remove the
yield sign for eastbound traffic on Davis Court and provide for a
yield sign for northbound traffic on Hillside Drive.

CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY-LAW 91-
Being a by-law to amend By-Law 75-23 being a
by-law to designate certain highways with the
Corporation of the Town of Newcastle as "Through
Highways"
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle deems
it desirable to amend By-Law 75-23;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle enacts
as follows:
1) Schedule 'A' to By-law 75-23 (former Township of Darlington) is
amended by adding the following item:

27 Davis Court, Hillside The north
Drive and Hillside limit of
Court in combination Davis Court
and the north
limit of
Hillside Court
2) THIS By-law shall come into force upon receiving the approval of
the Regional Municipality of Durham and when signs to the effect
are erected.

BY-LAW read a second time this day of 1991.
BY-LAW read a third time and finally passed on this day of 1991.
