2.0 BACKGROUND
2 . 1 The subdivision agreement between the Town and Aspen Springs
states that the developer is responsible to close a portion
of the road allowance known as Martin Road between Lots 14 and
15, Concession 1, former Bowmanville. The intersection at
Martin Road and Regional Road 57 is considered hazardous . It
was therefore imposed, as a condition of approval, that Martin
Road be closed to vehicular traffic and traffic be routed to
Regional Road 57 via Baseline Road. The intersection of
Baseline Road and Regional Road 57 is signalized.
2 .2 The road closure consists of the land between Candler Court
and Prestonway Drive (see Attachment No. 1) . It is
anticipated that, in the future, a sidewalk will be required
between Candler Court and Prestonway Drive. Therefore, the
road allowance will be closed to vehicular traffic only and
will remain in the Town's ownership.
3.0 CIRCULATION
3 . 1 The road closing application was circulated to all
departments, agencies and authorities . No objections were
received with respect to the road closing.
4.0 COMPENSATION
4 . 1 The applicant/developer is responsible for all costs
associated with the road closure. The developer is
responsible to remove existing pavement, provide screening for
traffic safety, and landscape the subject area.
