REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING OF JULY 12, 1982.
REPORT NO. WD-54A-82.
SUBJECT: 1982 CULVERT MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION.
QUOTATIONS.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 • That Report WD-54A-82 be received, and;
2. That the quotation for the Supply and
Delivery of Corrugated Steel Pipe, sub-
mitted by Peterboro Culvert Limited, be
accepted.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
In accordance with the recommendations of Report No. WD-40-82, the
Purchasing and Supply Agent has obtained quotations (Q82-1 ) for the
Supply and Delivery of Corrugated Steel Culvert. The results have
been tabulated with the low bidder being Messrs. Peterboro Culvert,
of Peterborough, Ontario. This Company has supplied the Town of
Newcastle in previous years, and has given satisfactory service.
The price bid was compared with the Regional Municipality of Durham's
i
Co-operative Tender for the Supply & Delivery of Steel Culvert and,
although the tenders were not exactly similar, the quotation of
Peterboro Culvert is approximately 8% (eight per cent) lower than
the prices quoted by bidders on the Co-operative Tender.
Pr
Respectfully bmitted,
Lily 6 1982. .G. Dupui Eng. ,
DTGyvh Director of Public Works.

TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
MEMORANDUM /
TO: Dave T. Gray, C.E.T. , Deputy-Director of Public Works
FROM: Dennis M. Homeniuk, P.P. , Purchasing and Supply Agent
DATE: 06 July 82
SUBJECT: Quotation Q82-1, Corrugated Steel Culvert
The results and tabulations of the recent quotation for rivetted corrugated
steel culvert can be summarized as follows:
Bidders Total Bid Amount
1. Peterboro Culvert, Peterborough, Ontario $23,271.00
2. Canada Culvert & Metal Products, Maple 25,515.35
3. Westeel-Rosco Limited, Toronto 26,157.70
4. Corrugated Pipe Co, Limited, Stratford 26,662.84
5. J.V. Holt Sales Limited, Peterborough 27,764.72
6. Koppers International Canada, Cambridge 32 756.92
In view of the fact that Peterboro Culvert is unable to supply metric size
culvert at this time, it is apparent that imperial sizes are acceptable to the
Town.
It is therefore recommended that Peterboro Culvert be accepted as the lowest
responsible bidder for the supply of r4vetted steel corrugated culvert.
