REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING OF JULY 12, 1982.
REPORT NO. WD-54-82.
SUBJECT: CONTRACT FOR HOT MIX PAVING.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . That Report WD-54-82 be received, and;
2. That Staff be authorized to call tenders
for the supply and placement of hot mix
paving in the Town of Newcastle, in accord-
ance with the 1982 Road Maintenance and
Construction Budget, and;
3. That, upon the award of the successful
tender, it be forwarded to the Ministry
of Transportation & Communications for
approval .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Each year the Public Works Department tenders for the supply and
placement of Hot Mix Paving, in accordance with the annual estimated
requirements. This year, in the Budget presentation, Construction
paving was separated from the Asphalt Resurfacing (a Maintenance item)
to more accurately reflect the total construction costs of each project.
The attached list represents the streets to be considered for paving
in the 1982 Contract.
