MEETING OF JUNE 28, 1982.

SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR A FENCE AND GATE ACROSS ROAD
ALLOWANCE BETWEEN LOT 24 and 25,
CONCESSION 9, FORMER TOWNSHIP OF DARLINGTON
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
That this report be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND REPORT:
The attached correspondence was, on June 21, 1982, directed by
Council to the Works Department for a report. Preliminary
discussions with the Town's solicitor lead to the opinion that
there may be legal impediments to the physical road closure
being petitioned. The correspondence has been forwarded to
the solicitor for a firm legal opinion, and once this has
been received, a further report recommending an appropriate
response to the petition, will be prepared for consideration
by Committee and Council .
