REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING OF MONDAY, APRIL 19, 1982.
REPORT NO. WD-31-82.
SUBJECT: Special Spring Garbage Collection - Orono.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . THAT Monday, May 10th, 1982, be designated as the day
for the special spring collection of garbage, not
normally included in weekly services as provided by
the contractor, T. Puckrin & Son Limited, and;
2. THAT the appropriate notice be placed in the 'Orono
Weekly Times ' .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Included in the terms and conditions of the contract with T. Puckrin
& Sons Limited, who provides garbage collection services on behalf
of the Town of Newcastle within the limits of the Village of Orono,
is the provision of a special pick-up for any items which would not
normally be accepted for disposal during the operation of weekly
collection schedules.
The Contractor has indicated that May 10th would be a suitable day
for the special collection, which will be undertaken in tandem with
the usual pickup performed on Mondays.
