SUBJECT: Lot 5, Block ' Z' , Village of Orono.
BACKGROUND:
The attached correspondence from two owners of property abutting
Lot 5, Block ' Z' , Village of Orono, are objecting to the Appraised
Value of those lands designated as Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4, on Plan
1OR-1188.
At the December 5, 1980, Meeting of the Public Works Committee, an
Appraised Value of $2,600. 00 (Twenty-Six Hundred Dollars) was
established in respect of Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4, Plan IOR-1188,
for the area of land entailed. The unnamed street is 33 ft. in
width by, approximately, 166. 75 ft. in length for a total land
area of 5,503 sq. ft.
REPORT:
Attached is a copy of the Policy for the Closure and Conveyance
of Road Allowances which was in existence at the time of the
initial application for closure. Item 6 of the Policy makes
reference to the fact that, in the event of an applicant's
refusal to accept the costs involved, no further action be taken.
The current Policy for the Closure, or Closure and Conveyance, of
Road Allowances (which was brought into effect on September 8,
1980) details, in Item 9, action similar to that described in
Item 6 of the previous Policy.
In view of Town Policy, the Committee may wish to either recon-
sider the Appraised Value or discontinue action in this matter.
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT the Public Works Committee reconsiders the Appraised Value
of the land comprising Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4, Plan 1OR-1188, being
Lot 5, Block ' 'L' (Unnamed Street) in the Village of Orono.
