Subject: Industrial Area - Sidewalks.
Baseline Road, Bowmanville.
Recommendation:
That Report WD-97-81 be received for information.
Report:
Pursuant to a request received from the President of Dennison
Manufacting Canada Inc. , the writer met with Mr. Ronald
Feinstein and agreed to investigate the feasibility and just-
ification for sidewalks to be installed on Baseline Road, east
of Liberty Street in Bowmanville.
A twenty-four hour Automatic Traffic Count was undertaken on
June 25, 1981, resulting in an A.A.D.T. of 3,340 (Three
Thousand Three Hundred and Forty) vehicles recorded. The
counter was located immediately east of the intersection of
Base Line and Simpson Avenue.
It is proposed that a ten-hour, manual
pedestrian count will
be completed in the near future and, upon assembly of all data
collected, the matter of the possible installation of side-
walks will be considered at that time.
