BACKGROUND:

Attached is a copy of Report WD-14-81 with accompanying data.
REPORT:
The abutting owners' objections to the Appraised Value of the
land being excessive may, in this case, be valid. The 33 ft.
roadway was never assumed by the Town, leads to a dead end and
is of no use to the Municipality.
To date there have been expenditures in respect of the closure
and conveyance of Lot 5, Block 'Z' , namely Survey and Appraisal
Fees, of $441. 75� and $335. 97� respectively ( a total amount
of $777. 72�) . In view of the minimal importance of this land,
it would be to the Town's advantage to dispose of same for
costs, which, in addition to those specified above, will include
the advertising of the by-law and fees for legal services.
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT Parts 1, 2, 3 & 4 of Plan 1OR-1188 be closed and conveyed
to the abutting owners, for costs and at no cost to the Town
and, further that the authority to advertise the closing be
given and the necessary by-law be prepared for consideration
by Council.
