Subject: Newcastle Memorial Arena.
Recommendation:
I
THAT the request of the Newcastle Arena Management Board be
granted and that the Town provide a filled sand box at the
site for use on the parking lot and access to the Arena during
the winter months.
Report:
A request was received from the Newcastle Arena Management
Board that the Town provide a filled sand box for use at the
Arena during winter months; it has been a problem for persons
attending the Arena to drive into the parking lot, and park
safely, as the area is very prone to becoming icy and gen-
erally hazardous .
The Public Works Department can comply with this request, which
seems reasonable from a practical standpoint.

Dear Mr . Dunham;
At a meeting of the Newcastle Arena Management
Board on February 4 , 1981, a discussion was held on the
condition of the entrance to and parking area at the
Newcastle Memorial Arena . Weather conditions have created
a very hazardous situation due to icy surfaces .
This Board requests that the Town supply a
filled sand box at this location to alleviate this problem .
