Subject: Resolution # W-165-81.
Liberty Place/Alexander Boulevard,
Bowmanville.
Recommendation:
THAT, whereas the subject preliminary design is not provided
for in the 1981 Budget, Staff therefore requests direction
relevant to funding prior to proceeding with the necessary
work.
Report:
On July 7, 1981, a delegation appeared before the Public Works
Committee to present a petition by residents of Liberty Place
and Alexander Boulevard in Bowmanville which requested that
improvements be effected in their area; as a result, Resolution
# W-165-81 was passed, as follows:
"THAT Staff be requested to prepare a
preliminary design for Liberty Place
and Alexander Boulevard, Bowmanville,
so that a reconstruction project could
be accommodated in the 1982 Budget". .
The foregoing was adopted by Council on July 13, 1981.
The subject streets total approximately 0.3 kilometres in
length and are classified as "Local Streets", with a Priority
Rating of 21 in the Now Needs; the 1980 (subsidizable) cost
estimate was $102,000. 00. , exclusive of Design.
Cost Estimated for Preliminary Design and Soils Examinations
are $4,000. 00, after which a Construction Cost Estimate could
be acquired.
This matter is not included in the 1981 Budget and, therefore,
direction is required regarding the suggested expenditure.
