REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE OF
OCTOBER 13, 1981.
REPORT NO. WD-124-81.
SUBJECT: Winter Operations.
Answering and Dispatch Services.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that:
1. This report be received, and;
2. The quotation of Tel-Air Systems Limited,
in the amount of $79. 50 (Seventy-Nine
Dollars and Fifty Cents) per month, for
the provision of twenty-four hour tel-
ephone answering and radio dispatch
services, be accepted for the period
December 1, 1981 to March 31, 1982.
BACKGROUND:
Each year, for the period December lst through to

March 31st, the Public Works Department requires a telephone answer-
ing and radio dispatch system, in order to provide optimum service
insofar as winter maintenance operations are concerned.

Prior to the last winter season, this Department
asked for quotations for the service from two area companies. That
of Tel-Air Systems Limited was lowest and, therefore, was accepted.
COMMENT:
Tel-Air Systems also provides the winter service to
the Regional Municipality of Durham and, of course, this is most
beneficial as operations and areas requiring the combined services
of the Region and the Town are far more readily co-ordinated.
We found that this Company was most satisfactory and
efficient and have no hesitation in recommending the use of their
services for the upcoming 1981-1982 season.
