SUBJECT: Road Allowance between Lots 24 & 25,
Concession 8, former Clarke.
BACKGROUND:
Attached is a request, referred by the Clerk for a report and
recommendation to this Comi.ttee.
The enquiry is that consideration be given to the Town conveying
the subject road allowance to Mr. & Mrs. Lynch, whose property
abuts same; details of costs are requested.
The subject road allowance was closed in 1964, by By-Law 1454,
but was not conveyed to abutting owners. By-Law 1454 closed all
of the subject road allowance through Concession 8; it is not
known, at this time, how many other abutting owners, beside Mr. & Mrs.
Lynch, have property adjacent to the allowance and who would be
involved should a conveyance be considered.
It is felt that, unless the total section of the road allowance
through Concession 8, is to be conveyed, no action should be
taken in this matter.
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT, conditional upon the confirmation and approval of all other
abutting owners relative to their interest in acquiring a portion
of the road allowance, geographically located in Lots 24 & 25,
Concession 8, former Township of Clarke, the same be conveyed,
in accordance with Town Policy and The Municipal Act.
