SUBJECT: Crossing over. C.P. Railway at Mileage 155 .66
(Belleville) : Lots 22 & 23, Broken Front Con. ,
former Township of Clarke.
BACKGROUND:
The subject matter was discussed at the Public Works Committee
Meeting of May 22, 1980, as a result of which Resolution No.
WD-137-80 was recommended to Council, as follows:
"THAT the recommendation in Report
No. WD-73-80 be endorsed and whereas
proposed automatic signals for the
C.P.R. Crossing, Mileage 155.66
(Belleville Subd.ivisio 11) ,
ically located in Lots 22 & 23,
Broken Front Concession, Former
Township of Clarke, are recognized
in the Five Year Forecast, Lhe con-
cerned parties be notified of same.".
REPORT:
Attached is correspondence, forwarded by the Clerk, fi_-oiii the
Canadian Transport Commission; this refers to linprovemcia.," and
procedures applicable to the subject crossing, and Lbe cotitei)L
is in conformation with the foregoing Resolution, with the
exception that no date is given as to when automatic PrOtOCLiOn
will be installed. Also the Canadian Transport Coiiim-ission suggests
that the complaint relative to C.P.R. trains standii)g, on the
siding should be referred, in writing, directly to the Railway
itself.
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT complaints relative to the blocking,, of vehicular traffic
by C.P.R. trains, at the C.P.R. CrossiIlf,, mileage 155.66,
specifically located in Lots 22 & 23, Bi-ol<eii Ft,oi)L Concession ,
former Township of Clarke, be directed Lo the Caiuidizii) Pacific
Railway.

With reference to the site meeting held on May P, 1980, the followinj�

to the Commission. Upon receipt or said application an 0 ff i rr),

exact location and needs of said proLect-i.on for this crossing.
A grant of 80;,; towards the total cost or installation or said
protection at said c:rossinl may be COHSidurcd, and in event of
the grant being authorized by the Committee, Lhu Road Authority
would be responsible for 12-1/2% and C .P. Rail for 7-1 /2% of
the total eligible costs.
