ITEM: WD-78-80.

SUBJECT: Newcastle Village Community Hall Drainage.
Background:
Resolution if W• 104-80 referred the attached Letter For n report to
this Committee.
Ile Newcastle Hall Board is requesting thaL Lhe Town rnnHcrt the
roof drain (on the west side of the Hall) to the slorm newer on
King Street.

Prom observation it would appear that the exisvinp drains are not
accommodating the roof drainage, thus causing concerns regarding the
foundation of the building. The present drain apparently runs north-
westerly, from a cistern to the crack which supposedly was domnged
during service installations some time ago.
If a drain was to be connected into the storm sewer on King Street
the cistern should also be connected, or removed.
To provide a drain and connection to the pycnew storm Newer W"Ad
cost, as estimated, $1,840. 00 (One Thousand Eight Hundred & F"ay
Dollars) to cover the following items:
Two (2) Catch Basins.
Twenty (20 m) met:Qrs of ton-- inch ( 10") Pip(,
ltqeIlLy-Six (26 m. ) of eig&-inch (8") Pipt,
Thirty-Five (35 m.) of Rain' inch (h") Pipe

Recommendation:
IUAT the matter be referred to the Finance & Admininirntion
Committee and it is recommended thm , [ F FOUHd to he IiHNnuially
prncticnl , consideration then he given LO employing I WHIVNU101
to undertake the necessary work .
