Subject: Extraction of Aggregates (Hardy & Visser)
Lot 2, Concession 8, former Darlington.
Background:
The subject matter was referred to the Region of Durham by
Resolution # W-68-80, as follows:
"THAT the recommendation in Report WD-41-80 be endorsed and
the application from Mr. B. Visser for an increase in tonn-
age from the pit in Lot 2, Concession 8, former Darlington,
south side of Regional Road 20, from 15,000 tons to 195,000
tons per year be forwarded to the Regional Municipality of
Durham with a request for comments on the proposed increase
and, further, if such comments are favourable, then the
request be approved by the Town of Newcastle."
Attached is correspondence received from the Region in answer
to the foregoing.
Recommendation:
THAT the correspondence received from the Region of Durham
regarding extraction of aggregates and the increase in
tonnage, from the pit geographically located in Lot 2,
Concession 8, Darlington, be received for information.
