Item: WD-52-80.
Date: April 18, 1980.
Subject: Street Lighting
Residential Subdivision, Hamlet of Solina.
Background:
In 1979, the Town of Newcastle entered into an Agreement with Mr.
& Mrs. W. Ashton for the construction of a twelve lot subdivision.
A requirement of this Agreement is that the Developer install
street lighting, to the satisfaction of the Town.
Report:
Ontario Hydro will be undertaking the design of the Street Lighting
System, to Town Standards, and the lights will be installed prior
to the Subdivision being placed on a Maintenance Program.
At the present time Ontario Hydro is requesting that the Town pass
a by-law relative to the installation of the lights, and for the
maintenance of same in the future.
All costs relative to the installation will be borne by the
Developer, as will those for maintenance until the Subdivision is
assumed by the Town of Newcastle. At the latter time the maintenance
costs will be assessed and levied on the rateable property in the
area.
Recommendation:
THAT the attached by-law be recommended to Council
for approval.
