Proposed Installation of Traffic Signals,
Back round:
Traffic Signals, within the owining Connecting Link, Bowmanville,
are proposed for the luerseevion of Kin, Street and Vmp=
Avenue, and must receive the necessary approvals prior to their
installation proceeding.

In order to receive the neceswaiy approval, the Ministry of Trans-
portation & Coiamunications reqolyes a resolution of Council to
authorize them to check and adjunt. the signals, periodically, to
ensure an unhampered flow of traffic and, further, that die
Municipality agrees to maintain other traffic control devices
such as parking signs.
Recommendation:
THAT the Municipality agrees that the Ministry of Transportation
& Communications reserves the right to check and adjust the signals
periodically, for timing and suquence, in order to ensure an
orderly and unhampered flow of rpriffic and, Further, that the
Town or Newcastle will maintain nuch other traffic controls:
(e.g. parking restrictions) au mny, in the opinion of the Ministry,
be necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the traffic
signals.
