Background:
In a letter dates January 29, 1980, the Tyrone Community Centre
Board requested that considernion be given to various improve-
ments in the Hamlet of Tyrone.
As a result of the request, hoporr # WD-18-80 was adopted, by
Resolution # WD-30-80, as follows:
"THAT whereas the Maio Street through Tyrone is
the responsibility Q the Region of Durham, the matter
of storm sewer, treo replacement and concrete curbs
be referred directly Lo that Agency and, rurther,
that the Tyrone Community Centre Board be advised
of the Town's Policy regarding Street Lights and,
whereas some sections of sidewalks may be deficient ,
these be considered when finances permit".

As indicated on the plan in ottacb'+s al ' the central portion of Tyrone i
located on a dished plateau. All of the drainage from the outside edges s
runs to the centre and has no adp.y/obo outlet, there is x small low-lying

Alternative 3 is an extremely Cuntly proposal , at least 5500,000. which
when considered in the light or hi'!h,r priority road sccLions, cannot be
justified. This is especially tro' jocn ultimately , Road 14 will probably

Alternative 2 is the most logical lutioo to the drainage problem but
would again he very costly. It is ngtimotod that an appropriate storm
sewer would CV1t at least S75,000. The dopU| of excavation, because of the
dished topography of the area xxx/|d he substantial , making for very costly
