Item: WD-40-80.

Subject: HAMPTON MILL POND.
Background:
The attached correspondence, from Central Lake Ontario Conservat-
ion Authority, advises of the intention to re-fill the Hampton
Mill Pond by mid-April, 1980.
In October of 1979, the Town requested that the Mill Pond be
drained in order to facilitate road repairs; at that time the
Authority stated that they would re-fill the Pond by mid-April.
Report:
The necessary repairs were effected to the berm and roadway adjac-
ent to the structure in November of 1979; however, until the Pond
is re-filled it will not be known how effective or adequate those
repairs are.
Recommendation:

THAT the correspondence from Central Lake Ontario Conservation
Authority be received for information and, further, that as and
when the Hampton Mill Pond is re-filled, it be monitored to ensure
that no water filters through the berm; if, after monitoring the
situation, filtration is a factor, a further report will be sub-
mitted to this Committee.
