Attention: Mr. Jack Dunham,
Director of Public Works.
Subject: 1910 Street Lighting Improvement Program.
Dear Sir:
As part of the ongoing program, we are submitting for
consideration several areas in both Newcastle and Bowmanville
where we feel the present street lighting should be improved.
In this day of conservation, we are recommending the use
in some areas of high pressure sodium units over the conventional
mercury vapour. In order to give some idea of cost, we have
compiled a data sheet showing cost per area along with a hand
drawn sketch and trust these will meet with approval.
Yours very truly,
M. J. Watson,
Acting manager,
Newcastle Hydro Electric Commission.
