HomeMy WebLinkAboutWD-226-79 No. 226 TOWN OF NEWCASTLE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Director's Report to Public Works Committee. Item: Report No. 11. Date: November 21, 1979. Subject: POLICY - Dewatering of Wells. Background: A Policy regarding the dewatering of and/or interference to a well or private water supply was established in February, 1978 (see attached) . Report: Recently, as a result of storm sewer construction, two wells were affected adversely, and the subject Policy was to be applied to the situation. However, it was found that the definitions within the Policy were somewhat obscure in that the area in question was water-serviced and service connections existed at the property line and this was an eventuality which was not defined clearly. Discussion at the Public Works Committee Meeting of October 30, 1979, indicated that possibly the Policy should be reviewed. Report No. 11, to Council (attached) in Recommendation No. 2. suggested that the Policy be reviewed in order to clarify and define all contingent situations. o. - ' k%P0BI 0u, ll, TOWN OF NEWCASTLE 9UDIIC N0DK3 DEPARTMENT Director's Deport to C000cil.
