Item: Maintenance Agreement .
Date: October 29, 1979 .
Subject : Access Road - Enniskillen Conservation Area.
Backyound:
In 1977 , as a result o1 concerns expressed by the Central Lake
Ontario Conservation Authority relative to the width and
shoulders of the access road into Enniskillen Conservation Area,
Public Works Committee., By Resolution 0 W-156-77, recommended
an amendment to By-Law 2111 .
Subsequent to the above By Law Y7- 5b was passed duN i gna t ing
the road allowance between Lots 20 & 21 , Concession 7, former
Township of Darlington as a "Class A Public Street".
In March of 1973 a further request for improvements to the road
was made by the Conservation Authority, resulting in Resolution
f� W-120-73, as follows:
"THAT this request be granted and
that minor improvements will be
made to the road udder the 1978
Maintenance Program".

The road allowance between Lots 20 & 21 , Concession 7 , former
Darlington, although designated as "Class A Public Street" is
used exclusiv ly as the access to Enniskillen Conservation Area.

The Conservation Authorities ' Act , Revised Statutes of Ontario ,
1970, Chapter 73, Section 21 , states:
"An :authority and any municipality may enter into
agreement for the construction of a road or the
reconstruction or ma Lntencancu of an exLsting road
under the jurisdiction of the municipality for the
purpose of providing access to lands for the
authority, used or to he used for park or recreat-
lonal purposes"

Recommendnt ion:
WHEREAS the road allowance in i.oLs 20 & 21 , Con-
om„n 7 , formrr Township of Urlington provides
access only to the Enniskillen (:onservatlon Area
.and not to other development , a Maintenance
Agreement be entered into with the Central_ Lake
Ontario Conservation Authority for the maintenance
of the subject road.
