Director' s Report to Public Works Committee.
Item: Resolution # W-154-79.
Date: October. 11 , 1979.
Subject: Request to close part of the Road Allowance
between Lots 6 & 7 , Concession 8,. former
Township of Darlington (Long Sault) .
Background:
On June 15, 1979, a request was received regarding the subject
matter, resulting in the Public Works Committee of July 10, 1979,
passing Resolution # W-154-79, as follows:
"THAT the Road Allowance be closed and conveyed
to the abutting owner, at an established appraised
value, subject to the owner agreeing to pay all
costs involved in effecting this transaction, in
accordance with Town Policy".
Report :
A Reference Plan and Legal Description has been prepared, and the
Appraised Value sought ; a copy of the Appraisal Report is attached
and the value of the land, comprising; some 15,430. 8 sq. ft. , has
been estimated at $2,507. 50e.
Further to the above, and due to the proximity of a Forced Road
owned by the Regional Municipality of Durham, the Regional
Commissioner of Works has been requested to Indicate any interest
in the relevant lands (copy letter attached) .
Recommendation:
THAT the Appraised Value of the Road Allowance between Lots 6 & 7 ,
Concession 8, former Township of Darlington, be established at
$2 , 500. 00 (Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars) and further that ,
subject to the Regional Municipality of Durham having no interest
in the said lands, Resolution # W-154-79 be enacted upon.
