Item: Resolution # W-266-78.

Subject: Proposed Closure of D'Arcy &
Clarke Streets, Village of Newcastle.
Background:
As a .result bf a request to close and convey D'Arcy and Clarke
Streets in the Village of Newcastle, Report # 66 (July 17, 1978)
was submitted to the Public Works Committee.
Report:
Report # 66 (see attached) was adopted by Resolution # W-266-78.
on August 17, 1978. Since that time the abutting owners have
given indication of their interest in acquiring the subject road
allowance, in accordance with the Act.
The Appraisal Report indicates that the value of each street is
$1,400. 00 (Fourteen Hundred Dollars) and it is noted that adjoining
properties acquiring additional land from the subject roadways will
not provide sufficient area for conformity and, as a result, will
only add surplus land to these properties; this would not alter
the market value of these properties to any great degree.
After consideration of the Appraisal Report it is my opinion that
the values established are somewhat high.
Recommendation:
1. THAT the established appraised value be $1,200 (Twelve
Hundred Dollars) each for those sections of D'Arcy and
Clarke Streets between Park Street and the Road Allowance
between Lots 26 & 27.

2. THAT the necessary Reference Plan and Legal Description
be prepared.
3. THAT those portions of D'Arcy and Clarke Streets, as
defined in Item 1, above, be closed, and that the
closure be advertised in accordance with the Act.
