HomeMy WebLinkAboutPW-51-76 REPORT #51 TO: Mr. B . Tink, Chairman of the Public Works Committee FROM: J. Dunham, Director of Public Works SUBJECT: Elgin and Concession Street Intersection DATE : July 9, 1976 The above subject was referred from Council to the Works Committee, contents being a petition submitted by Marnwood Company Limited, claiming the said intersection to be dangerous. Apparently, the visibility immediately at the intersection is not the concern, but some distance north due to the elevation of the existing railroad bridge. No modifications have been carried out at or near this intersection for many years ; also, the railroad bridge has existed for a number of years. Due to the date whereby we received this referral, there was not sufficient time to undertake a study of this intersection including portions of Elgin and Concession Streets . I would recommend that an in-house study be carried out in order to determine if traffic is sufficient to warrant for example, a caution light or possibly, a four-way stop. The recommended study is necessary to establish what criteria the mentioned intersection would come under.
