SUBJECT: Bell Telephone Forwarding System
DATE: October 20, 1975
Bell Telephone Company now have a service called
Telephone Forwarding System for the 623 exchange
only. This service can provided a 623 exchange
number is posted, ring Into an answering service
after hours and on week-ends. For the winter
months this would be a tremendous benefit.
As an example, if 623*3391 which is the number
for the Works Building in Lwmanville was on this
system, it could be posted as the number .to be
called after hours seven days a week.
An answering service in Oshawa is geared for this
purpose. Also, they at the present time have a
radio which can be used to call our existing fre-
quency which, would be another asset to us.
In considering this$ it would reduce our night
patrol by one man, a saving of $208.00 per 40 hour
shift = $4,160.00 for the winter season.
Costs for the system are as followss-
Connection at this end $11.25
Forwarding system itself $3.65 er month
Connection at answering service 9.75
Answering Service $36. 50 per month includes 75
written messages on week-ends.
Cost comparison based on 5 months total for the
above $221.75.
It would be my recommendation that the above men-'
tioned system be used for the coming 1975-76
winter season.
