Subject: EMPLOYEE SUGGESTION PLAN COMMITTEE
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
THAT Report CD-35-97 be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Council passed a resolution in December 1996 directing that a
report be submitted addressing the establishment of a committee
to bring forward a policy on an employee suggestion plan.
The idea of employee suggestions was instituted during the 1997
budget deliberations with the submission of various suggestions
by the union employees . These suggestions were reviewed by the
respective departments and implemented where appropriate .
A committee, to be co-chaired by the Clerk and the Treasurer and
including representation from each department, will be formed
over the summer months and will present a report to the General
Purpose and Administration Committee recommending the adoption of
a formal employee suggestion policy in the fall .
